The 17th Storm San Marino Open 2023 was conducted in Serravalle, San Marino, 8-16 July 2023. Total of 553 Entries and re-entries were bowled during the week by 195 athletes, where of 37 were women.

 

After 3 final steps it was down to 4 athletes to play 3 games to decide the final standing.

 

Antonino Fiorentino, Italy made only 201 in first game and was placed as number 4

Essi Pakarinen from Finland, made 474 in 2 games and was placed as number 3.

Lukas Jelinek, Czech Republic, made 704 in 3 games and placed as number 2

Kim Bolleby, Sweden made 738 in 3 games and won!

The highest woman became Essi Pakarinen, Finland

 

There have been changes on the top of the Womens ranking, Essi Pakarinen, Finland is now on top and Anna Andersen and Nora Johanson from Sweden, are following closely.

On the Mens ranking then Kim Bolleby, Sweden has taken healthy lead, more than 300 points more than second place from Mathias Ankerdal, Denmark and Nicola Pongolini, Italy follows closely behind in 3rd place.

The EBT Masters 2023 was held in Rose´n Bowl, Serravalle, San Marino on the 12 July during the 17th San Marino Open.

In short then 16 athletes were battling for prize of total 18.000 EUR (9.000 EUR p/gender)

After the qualification – 8 games then following 4 of each gender kept going in the final and played further 4 games, result as follows:

Women:
Mai Ginge Jensen, Denmark: 1838 + 984 = 2822
Anna Andersson, Sweden: 1648 + 963 = 2611
Essi pakarinen, Finland: 1677 + 839 = 2561
Christine Hansen, Denmark: 1651 + 777 = 2428

Men:
Dominic Barret, England: 1913 + 918 = 2831

Winner of EBT Masters 2023 are Mai Ginge Jensen, Denmark and Dominic Barret, England.

The Valcke Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament 2023 was conducted in Tilburg, Netherlands 18-25 June 2023. Total of 450 Entries and re-entries were bowled during the week by 198 athletes, where of 27 were women.

After 4 final steps it was down to 4 athletes to play 2 games to decide the final standing.

 

Robin Ilhammar, Sweden made 502 and won the tournament.

Kim Bolleby, Sweden made 458 and took second place

Mike Bergmann, Netherlands made 424 and 3rd place

Victor Gundersen, Denmark made 368 and 4th place.

The highest woman became Nora Johannsson, Sweden

 

Top spots in the women’s raking is still the same: Verity Crawley, England, but Kim Bolleby, Sweden has squeezed into first place in the men’s ranking.

The EMC2023 was conducted in Wittelsheim, France 6-17 June 2023 – 172 athletes from 30 Federations participated in 6 disciplines.

During the championship 11 x 300 games was made and 8 records broken.

The EBT Masters 2023 will be held in San Marino on the 12 July during the 17th San Marino Open.

11.30 – 12.30: Lane Maintenance
12.30 – 14.15: Final 4 games (Both Genders, 8 lanes)
14.15 – 14.45: Award Ceremony

Athletes will be competing for 18.000 EUR prize money ( 9.000 EUR pr gender)

The 25th edition of the Mediterranean Bowling Championships took place in the Republic of San Marino from the 7th  to 14 th of May 2023. Rose’n Ball bowling center hosts the event under the leadership of the president of the San Marino Bowling Federation, Mr. Adriano Santi. 15 federations with 60 athletes  participated in 7 events, claiming  32 medals

Mediterranean Bowling Confederation

Dear Friends of the European Bowling Family,

I unfortunately have to bring you the information that our EBF president, Addie Ophelders, has due to health issues and doctors advise decided to resign from all his responsibilities as the President of EBF with immediate effect.

We have been asked by his family to limit all communication with Addie to absolute zero for the time being, as he is medicated and resting.’

Addie was first elected as FIQ-EZ Vice President in 1985 and was then elected as President at the FIQ-EZ Congress in 1989 and has been EBF President from then.

We wish Addie speedy recovery, and we will meet him soon again.

Undersigned will be acting as Interim President until EBF Congress in October 2023
